Solar interfacial regeneration performance of different solutions for liquid desiccant cooling system

Abstract A liquid desiccant cooling system (LDCS) is a promising energy-saving air-conditioning with the advantages of being driven by low-grade heat and excellent humidity control ability. However, problems high energy consumption low utilization efficiency its regenerator limit further development. To improve, novel solar interfacial regeneration (SIR) method proposed. The can convert into locate at evaporation interface so that has efficiency. Experimental studies were carried out on different desiccants. results show thermal this 2.6 to 2.9 times conventional method. LiBr solution best performance, but MgCl 2 CaCl are cheaper. Considering economic cost, mixed may be better choice. These advances could make SIR-based LDCS potential contender for future systems.
